BIOGRAPHY
The Bouchards bring tight vocal harmonies, rocking guitars, a swinging rhythm section, and an atmospheric blend of pedal steel guitar and keyboards to new songs about old things – lust, love and loss.
The Bouchards got together in the summer of 2006 when ex Rank and File drummer Bob Kahr moved to Seattle and met Dennis Tevlin and Bill Preib. Tevlin and Preib were performing their bohemian cowpop duets at house concerts and parties and were looking for a good drummer. In Kahr they found exactly what they wanted – a kindred spirit who could not only swing the beat but could also sing three part harmony. Soon after finding Kahr, the group added another new Seattleite, former Tracy Chapman bassist Andy Stoller. With this quartet in place, the Bouchards started playing club gigs and recording the basic tracks for what would become their debut CD. A number of Seattle area musicians began sitting in with band during this time including Dan Tyack on pedal steel, Orville Johnson on Dobro and John Parry on fiddle. These impromptu collaborations spilled over into the recording sessions for High Water Line and give the album its intimate vibe and live feel.
The group's current lineup includes Tevlin and Preib on guitars and vocals, Kahr on drums and vocals, and new members “Country Dave” Harmonson on pedal/lap steel guitars, Frank Holman on keyboards, and Geoff Duncan on bass.
