BIOGRAPHY
Hi! My name is Jon Manning. I started this goofy pop band right before I moved from Thousand Oaks, CA to Portland, OR in January 2005. Living in Portland didn't last long. I've moved back and forth between CA and WA a lot, but I really love Seattle.
Originally it started out with me playing songs on my keyboard and soprano ukulele, but these days all I seem to play is my baritone ukulele. Once 2008 came around, I decided it was time to get an ensemble together to play with me. Since then I've been playing with one or more of the following accompaniments: beat boxing, cello, flute, bass, and suitcase/tambourine percussion.
We do our best to make the live sets inclusive to all people and get people involved! It's much more fun to get a room full of people to participate rather than have them stare at you blankly.
I run a cassette tape label called Lost Sound Tapes, which I released my first few releases on. Our first album "Indoor Camping" came out in August 2008 on Now Hereness Records on CD and Lost Sound Tapes on cassette. Both formats were the same tracks, but completely different recordings. The CD was recorded with a full band on a digital 8-track and the tape was recorded solo on a boombox.
