BIOGRAPHY
Seattle rock band By Sunlight play moody, melodic music made of equal parts shimmer and punch. With chiming guitars, sterling vocals, a powerful rhythm section and unpredictable sonic arrangements, the band creates dynamic music that sounds only like itself.
Originally based in Sacramento, By Sunlight moved to Seattle in 2007 and released a self-titled album in 2008. They toured frequently with this material through 2010, while also releasing two new songs on a vinyl split single.
In 2012, By Sunlight completed a new full-length album--titled Penumbra--with plans to release it in the autumn. The album was recorded in North Carolina with producer/engineer Scott Solter (St. Vincent, Pattern Is Movement, John Vanderslice, Superchunk, Tarentel, Okkervil River, Division Day).
With the new album finished, the band is excited to do more touring across the country. They plan to continue playing intense, buzz-worthy shows, and will keep touring and making music until their heads explode.
Their 2008 self-titled album is available online at bysunlight.com and all major online music stores. Their 7-inch vinyl release can be purchased on Side With Us Records .
And they have a Facebook page, of course, which they're sure you can find all by yourself. See them live, buy their music, be their friend.
